This is different from email parsing, which reads a mailbox to create
leads. Gmail here is about conversations: sending and receiving customer email in the
Inbox.
Connecting your mailbox
1
Open the Gmail integration
Settings → Integrations → Gmail → Configure, or connect your own mailbox from
Settings → Profile → Gmail connection.
2
Sign in with Google
Choose the account you want to send and receive from.
3
Approve BOTH permissions
4
Test the connection
Test connection confirms Gmail is reachable and that both permissions were granted.
Connected accounts
The Gmail modal lists every connected mailbox in your organization, with a test and a disconnect action for each. If you see “Some accounts need to be reconnected”, one or more mailboxes lost their authorisation — Google revokes tokens when a password changes, when a Workspace admin changes policy, or after long inactivity. Reconnect them; those agents cannot send email until you do.Using it
Once connected, add an email contact in Settings → Profile → User Contacts with Provider = Gmail and tick Is Default?. See Profile. Outbound emails then go through your mailbox, and replies come back into the conversation thread.Gmail vs SendGrid and Mailgun
