# LongMile carrier verification

> Check a carrier against live federal records before you dispatch — authority, insurance, safety and chameleon-carrier detection.

LongMile is BeRocker's carrier and broker intelligence service. It checks a carrier against **live
federal records** and gives you a signed report you can keep.

<Info>
  LongMile is not a load board. It sits in the **Load boards** group on the Integrations page because
  that is where carrier tools live, but its job is deciding *whether* to hand a carrier your load.

## What a check gives you

|                                             |                                                                                                                                            |
| ------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **100-point risk score**                    | Safety 55% · Authority 25% · Identity 20% — with **chameleon-carrier detection** that catches a revoked operator trading under a new name. |
| **Authority and insurance, as filed today** | Live FMCSA authority and insurance filings, BASIC alerts, inspection history and crash records — not a badge someone self-reported. |
| **Proof you can hand to a claim** | Every check leaves a timestamped, signed PDF on the carrier profile, naming what was screened and when. |

A report also covers: operating status and out-of-service flags, authority types (common / contract
/ broker), BASICs in alert, fatalities and injuries, fleet and driver counts, trucks and tractors,
annual mileage, when MCS-150 was last updated, federal exclusions, cargo types, and **shared
contacts** — other entities using this carrier's phone or address.

## Connecting

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Integrations">
    **Settings → Integrations**, find the **LongMile** card in **Load boards**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect LongMile">
    Click **Connect LongMile** and complete the authorisation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test Connection">
    The **Test Connection** dialog shows the **Connected Account**, **Connection Tests**, your
    **Lookup Allowance** and how much is **left this period**, the **Granted Access**, the
    **Webhook Status**, and when the access token renews.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If the card says **Reconnect LongMile**, the authorisation lapsed — reconnect it.

***

## Without connecting

Lookups still work on the **LongMile free allowance**. Connecting your own account uses your account
quota instead, which is what you want if you check carriers all day.

<Info>
  Disconnecting does not switch verification off. *"Lookups keep working on the LongMile free
  allowance, but your account quota will no longer be used until you reconnect."*
</Info>

## Using it on a carrier

Open any carrier from [Carriers](/using/carriers) and use the verification panel to run a check. The
result — status, score, band and recommendation, with the date it was checked — is stored on the
carrier record, so anyone on your team can see what was screened and when.

<Tip>
  Check a carrier **before** you accept their offer, not after the vehicle is on their truck.
</Tip>

<Warning>
  A carrier with no verification is not the same as a carrier that failed one. An unchecked carrier
  simply has not been looked at.
</Warning>
